During the May Board of Education meeting, Jorge Marquez, a dedicated bus driver for Downey Unified was recognized with the Shared Values Award in the Area of Best Staff and High Standards. For the last 10 years, Jorge has supported both general education and special education students, ensuring their safety and well-being every day. Beyond his role as a bus driver, Jorge is also a talented musician, sharing his love of various instruments at various events across the district. His commitment to excellence and his calm, thoughtful demeanor exemplify the high standards we value in our staff. We thank Jorge for his continuous dedication to our Downey Unified family.
