11:00 am – 4:00 pm

Downey High School’s Layne Stadium

11040 Brookshire Ave, Downey, CA 9024

About the Event

This inaugural community event will feature Grammy-nominated Lupita Infante (a Downey High alum) as MC with performances by Southern California student mariachi groups (6th grade through college). The student ensembles will each receive feedback and coaching from Mariachi industry experts following their performances.

The Mariachi Music Festival is moving to Downey High School’s Layne Stadium to accommodate the great number of mariachi music lovers that have RSVPd for this Saturday’s event. The response has been extraordinary, and we cannot thank our Downey Unified community enough for their overwhelming support of this event.

Seating & Free Parking

The location change will provide ample seating in the stadium stands and more free parking options in Downey High’s parking lots off of Brookshire Ave. (at Firestone Blvd. and just south of 5th St, near the Aquatic Center pool), as well as off Lakewood Blvd., at 3rd St.

We still encourage everyone to walk, use public transit, carpool or use rideshare services (like Lyft or Uber) to lessen the potential traffic congestion as everyone is arriving at the same time.

This fun, free event is open to all ages and includes a day of entertainment, music, and young talent. Bring your appetite as food trucks will have a variety of tasty meals available for purchase.

Please note that this is a family event; alcohol is not permitted on the premises. No pets allowed. By attending the event, you agree to the event’s privacy policy.
