As we prepare to open our campuses for students in a Hybrid Model beginning on Monday, March 29th, we are providing an update to our families about free breakfast and lunch meals for all of our students. To accommodate all students regardless of if they attend in the Hybrid Model or full Distance Learning, our schedule has shifted to ensure a successful program for all.
Beginning on Monday, March 29th, students who are returning to campus in the in-person Hybrid Model will be receiving their free meals in a grab and go fashion on the days they are on campus (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). Elementary students will be provided a grab and go breakfast, lunch, snack and “supersnack” upon dismissal. Middle and high school students will be provided a grab and go breakfast and snack upon arrival/in the morning period, and a lunch and “supersnack” upon dismissal.
On Wednesdays, all students will be in Distance Learning and are able to pick up free meals at any of our 15 distribution locations (drive-thru or walk-up) from 10:30am-12:30pm. Unlike in the past, a “weekends worth” of meals will now be provided to students on Wednesdays instead of Fridays to accommodate students’ schedules.
For our students who will continue with full Distance Learning and not returning to in-person Hybrid, meals can be picked up from our various distribution locations. Please note that beginning on Monday, March 29, the times as well as the locations have changed: Eight (8) distribution locations will be drive-thru as well as walk-up and five (5) locations will be walk-up ONLY. All elementary distribution locations will be providing free meals from 9:30am to 10:30am on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Downey and Warren high schools will be providing free meals to students only (Student ID number required) from 12:45pm to 1:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Please see below for locations and details.
As we have since the beginning of the school year, all families and students who visit our school sites to pick up meals are required to wear a face mask/covering and student IDs/PIN are requested. Distance Learning students can visit any distribution site to pick up meals, it does not have to be the child’s home school.
