As we continue to monitor the ongoing challenges caused by the fires in Los Angeles County’s mountain, valley, and coastal areas, we remain saddened by the devastation that is affecting so many and want to provide an update related to the remainder of this week.
The air quality in our classrooms and facilities continues to be closely monitored and is better than what many experience in most other settings, thanks to our HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) ionization systems and air purification measures.
For tomorrow, January 10, 2025, we will continue with the same air-quality protocols as today:
- All elementary schools will operate on an indoor (rainy-day) schedule.
- Secondary schools will suspend all outdoor PE and athletic activities.
- Indoor spaces will be utilized by students during snack and lunch periods.
- All field trips scheduled for the day have been cancelled.
We will continue to closely monitor air-quality conditions overnight and will keep you informed about any further adjustments for tomorrow and into the weekend. Our priority is to safely maintain the stability of education for our students and make informed decisions based on timely data.
We appreciate the patience, grace, and flexibility shown by our families, school sites, and staff during this challenging time. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by these events across Southern California.
Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
