Graduation 2023

Hello Seniors and Families,

Please read carefully. Here is what you need to know before you go.

Class of 2023 Graduation is scheduled for this Thursday, June 1, at 7:00 p.m. It will be held at the Veteran Memorial Stadium, Long Beach City College.

Long Beach City College, Football Stadium- Veterans Memorial Stadium

• Report to LBCC Baseball field, by 6:00 pm
• Upon entering the Baseball field students will be searched – No personal belongings are to be carried with you except a cell phone (no purses, back packs, cameras, miscellaneous items)

 GRADUATION DRESS/ATTIRE

• Cap, Gown, Tassel –Cap can be decorated with appropriate words or imagery.
• Please do not wear any non-school sponsored attire or decorations, included but not limited to: NON-SCHOOL RELATED sashes, leis, stoles, scarves, cords, pins, medallions, etc.
• This is a formal event, please dress and act accordingly for the occasion: Dress shirt and tie, slacks, dresses or nice pants, blouses and your favorite
• Shoes: Flats, Wedges – only! NO Stiletto or Heels.
• Gum is not allowed on the field
• Don’t forget your academic medals, Viking Award pins + medallions, CSF cords/sashes!

THE CEREMONY

• Line up at 6:00 PM, NAME CARDS will be distributed by guidance counselors, and graduates will enter the field at 7:00 PM
• Teacher Tunnel will allow students to bid farewell to former teachers and will be located on the field before your name is called.
• Following the graduation ceremony, graduates will exit through the front gates of the stadium to meet their families
• Family and Guests are not allowed on the field after graduation per agreement with LBCC.
• Graduation ceremony will not be live streamed
• A professional photographer will capture your moment on the stage and families will have an opportunity to purchase photos from ultimateexposures.com (they will email proofs 7-10 days after ceremony)

OTHER THINGS TO REMEMBER…

• If you are driving yourself to graduation, park in the main parking lot in front of the stadium
• If you are getting dropped off – request to be dropped off at Baseball field located behind the stadium
• Families, gates open at 5:30pm. Parking is located in front of the stadium
• Once checked in, you are to remain in the baseball field – plan ahead! Use the restroom BEFORE
• Tickets are required for each person attending, including babies/young. Graduate does not need a ticket.
• Guests without a ticket will not be permitted. Tickets cannot be replaced if lost or stolen.
• Graduates and families are expected to exit stadium immediately following ceremony
• Following items are prohibited: food, drinks, gum, strollers, balloons, airhorns, beachballs, confetti, signs, umbrellas, or drones.
• No parent line ups before 5:30pm.
• No pets allowed; only authorized Service Dogs will be permitted with proper documentation.
• STANDARDS OF BEHAVIOR – Use good judgment & make smart choices every day! Everything that is against the rules at school is against the rules at graduation. Everything that’s against the law in the community is against the law at graduation.
• Accessible seating is available but is limited to one companion in the ADA section
