Counselor Corner
School counselors are credentialed educators who improve student success for ALL students by implementing a comprehensive school counseling program. Downey High School Counselors are vital members of the DHS educational team, trained to help students and families deal with academic challenges in schools, and personal/social situations that may impede their learning. They help all students in the areas of academic achievement, personal/social development, and career development. They do not work in isolation; rather they are integral to the total education program. Downey High School’s ten counselors align and work with the school mission to prepare students for 21st-century college and career success and to produce responsible, well-rounded citizens connected to our local and global community.
