The inaugural Downey Unified Mariachi Music Festival on Saturday, April 27, was a successful, well-attended event, an example of the dedication and support this District provides to its students and staff. Downey Unified demonstrated its ability to produce a top-notch event that generated very positive feedback from all of its guests.
We are incredibly proud of all the student performers who took in the seriousness of this Mariachi endeavor, putting on amazing performances. The professional Mariachi judges and Lupita Infante herself were unbelievably happy about the dedication to continuing the learning and love for this genre of music.
