On May 30th, 2024, the Azar Event Center in Santa Fe Springs buzzed with excitement as Downey High School hosted its annual AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) banquet. The evening was a joyous celebration dedicated to the school’s dedicated AVID students, recognizing their hard work, academic achievements, and college aspirations.
Guests were treated to an evening of celebration, including inspiring speeches, delicious food, and most importantly, a chance for students, teachers, and families to connect and celebrate their achievements. The night undoubtedly served as a significant motivator for the AVID students as they move forward on their paths to higher education.
