A Path to College Success and Significant Savings
For Warren families, this recognition highlights a practical and valuable opportunity: students are earning college credit while in high school at no cost to their families.
Partnering with Cerritos College

Through a strong partnership with Cerritos College, Warren High School offers access to 29 UC- and CSU-transferable courses. These are the same courses students would traditionally pay for after graduation. By completing them now, families save thousands of dollars in future tuition while students enter college with a measurable head start.
Starting Early: Ninth Graders Get a Head Start
At Warren, the journey to college doesn’t wait until senior year. Each year, more than 125 incoming ninth graders complete a college course (either Reading 101 or Health) before their first official day of high school. Starting early helps students build academic confidence and see themselves as college-bound from the moment they arrive on campus.
Removing Barriers to Higher Education
The Dual Enrollment program is intentionally designed to be inclusive and accessible. Classes are embedded directly into the regular school day and offered during the first instructional block, alongside flexible online options.
This structure ensures that students can earn college credit without:
- Needing extra transportation to a college campus.
- Staying late after school.
- Sacrificing extracurricular activities or family responsibilities.
Proven Results: By the Numbers
The impact of these efforts is reflected in the significant growth of student achievement over the last two years:
- Increased Participation: Student enrollment in dual enrollment courses has nearly doubled.
- A-G Completion: Rates have increased from 58% to 69%.
- College & Career Readiness: The percentage of students meeting state readiness indicators rose from 53.6% to 64.8%.
This growth has been equitable and inclusive, with substantial participation increases among English Learners, socioeconomically disadvantaged students, and students with disabilities. At Warren High School, we are ensuring that the path to a college degree is determined by a student’s ambition, not their circumstances.
