Teachers from Old River Elementary participated in a full professional day to collaborate on embedding WICOR strategies in all of their content classes. The program was led by coordinators Samantha Marquess & Wendy Rivas.
WICOR is a learning model that AVID uses to help students learn at higher levels and increase rigor in the classroom. It stands for Writing, Inquiry, Collaboration, Organization & Reading
WICOR provides students with opportunities to demonstrate what they know and their abilities with rigorous course content. In turn, this builds skills and behaviors that support college and career readiness.
