It was unanimously decided during Wednesday, February 10th’s Board of Education meeting, that the school district would temporarily place an exception within the current local graduation requirements to support those students who have been most affected by the pandemic.

This exception would create a waiver process that could only be utilized based on a school counselor’s recommendation with an administrator’s approval.  This graduation waiver is temporary and only applies to this year’s senior students who have experienced significant difficulties as a result of the pandemic.

Any student who is identified and recommended by their counselor as having been negatively impacted by the pandemic would have to navigate a process with their counselor to access this graduation waiver.

Students who have experienced extreme hardship should work with their respective school administrators and counselor to explore this option and any other options to support their path to graduation.
