Warren High School senior Alexandra Arriaga has earned an impressive second-place finish in the 44th Congressional District Art Competition, a recognition that highlights both her talent and commitment to the arts. Along with this honor, Alexandra has been awarded a $2,500 scholarship, and her artwork will be displayed in Congresswoman Nanette Barragán’s Washington, D.C. office for one year.

Alexandra’s name may already sound familiar. Earlier this year, she was also selected as a finalist in the 42nd Congressional District Art Competition. Because she lives in one district and attends school in another, she had the unique opportunity to participate in both competitions, showcasing her work across a broader region and gaining recognition in each.

Her accomplishments reflect years of consistent effort and dedication. Alexandra is currently enrolled in AP Art and has taken four art classes during her time at Warren. Through these courses, she has steadily refined her skills, developed her artistic voice, and built a portfolio strong enough to stand out in highly competitive district-level contests.

The 44th Congressional District is one of the largest in the region, encompassing communities such as Bellflower, Carson, Harbor City, Harbor Gateway, Lakewood, Long Beach, Lynwood, Paramount, Rancho Dominguez, San Pedro, South Gate, West Carson, and Wilmington. Competing among students from across such a wide area makes Alexandra’s achievement even more significant.
Alexandra Arriaga’s success is a testament to the power of persistence, creativity, and passion. Her achievements not only bring pride to Warren High School, but also serve as an inspiration to other young artists who are working toward their own goals.
