On Tuesday, April 21st, our Warren community came together to celebrate something truly special. We honored 259 outstanding students across 18 academic, athletic, and leadership categories at our annual Golden Bear Awards. These Bears represent the very best of Warren High School. They set the standard for what it means to be a Warren Bear.

Each student recognized demonstrated excellence in and out of the classroom, deep commitment to their craft, and a level of perseverance that deserves to be celebrated. Their achievements reflect not only personal dedication, but also the strength of our programs, staff, and community.

An Unforgettable Moment: Grand Golden Bear Honoree

The evening reached an unforgettable high point with the announcement of our Grand Golden Bear Winner, Juliet Zenteno. Her accomplishments speak for themselves.

Juliet has:

  • Completed two CTE pathways in Machine & Forming Technology and Game Programming
  • Is currently completing the Computer Science pathway
  • Earned a Gold Medal at the State level and a Bronze Medal at the National level in Game Programming
  • Served as SkillsUSA President and a consistent leadership team member
  • Been inducted into the National Technical Honor Society
  • Competed as a 4-year Varsity Wrestler
  • Performed as a member of DUSD Mariachi
  • Participated in Femineers for four years
  • Earned the Seal of Biliteracy
  • Completed 10 AP courses and 2 Dual Enrollment courses
  • Maintained a 4.7 state-weighted GPA
  • Earned a full-ride QuestBridge scholarship to Cal Poly Pomona

And as if that were not enough, we learned earlier that same day that Juliet was named a Gates Scholar, one of the most competitive scholarships in the nation. Out of more than 61,000 applicants, only 300 students are selected. This scholarship covers tuition, housing, meals, and books.

Her achievement is absolutely remarkable and a powerful reflection of what is possible at Warren.
