Dear Viking Nation:

We are reaching out to inform you about upcoming construction on campus that will significantly impact parking and traffic flow. Next week, we will begin installing solar panels in our parking lots.

Monday, December 16, the North Lot (near Allen Layne Stadium) will be closed to all cars. Birchdale Avenue gate will be available for students to walkthrough.

Effective Tuesday, December 17, the North Lot will be closed for parking, but available for drop off.

Please read the following details carefully (effective December 17):

  • Parking Restrictions
    • North Lot: No student parking allowed in the North Lot until the project is completed.
    • South Lot-: Lot continues to be for staff & visitors only. All vehicles must display a valid permit.
    • East Lot (by the baseball field): Limited parking will be available for student parking with a valid permit
  • Drop-Off Access Only
    • The North Lot will remain open for one-way drop-off only. Families can enter via Brookshire Avenue and exit through Birchdale Ave(towards 5th Street). When exiting on to 5th Street please this is a right-turn only exit.
    • A small roundabout will be available to help vehicles enter the North Lot and exit onto Brookshire.
  • Birchdale Avenue Access
    • Vehicles will not be permitted to enter the North Lot through Birchdale Ave (off 5th Street).
    • Students can still use the pedestrian gate near Birchdale Ave for access.

We understand this change may inconvenience our 104 student drivers and families. We appreciate your understanding and encourage you to plan ahead with your families to accommodate these adjustments. No new student parking permits will be distributed until construction has concluded.

To help everyone prepare, please review the updated drop-off locations (red stars) on the attached map.

Looking ahead, please note that once the North Lot construction is complete, work will begin on the South (front) Lot. We will provide updates as they arise.

Thank you for your flexibility and support as we make these improvements to our campus.
