Ginger Allen is a morning anchor and special projects reporter for CBS Dallas/Fort Worth. She has covered news in North Texas as a general assignment reporter, investigator and anchor since 1999. Before moving to Dallas, Ginger worked as a lead reporter for WLWT-TV in Cincinnati. She traveled with NBC News Channel covering major stories for NBC affiliates all over the country. She was an anchor/reporter at KBAK-TV and anchor/co host for KERN talk radio in Bakersfield. She began her career at KCBS-TV in Los Angeles as a researcher and also worked at KMIR-TV in Palm Springs.

Ginger’s most internationally recognized investigative work exposed the potential dangers of laptop computers overheating and catching on fire. Her investigation led computer manufacturers all over the world to recall more than 10 million lithium ion batteries. Other notable investigative reports included: Loopholes in the visa system that she discovered shortly after the 9/11 attacks; a Texas Parks Cities Parole Company; and contaminated sutures manufactured by a Johnson & Johnson company.

Ms. Allen has earned the Texas Gavel Award, the Stephen Philbin Award and a Katie Award for Best Investigative Reporting. She has received Emmy nominations for Investigative Reporting, Outstanding General Report and Speciality Reporting. She was recognized by the Associated Press for Live Reporting and also received a California Department of Health Services Award. Ginger and her husband Scott have two children, Brayden (6) and Brielle (4). She will proudly tell you her family is the best and most rewarding job of all.
