Downey Unified is home to 13 incredible elementary schools where learning goes beyond the basics. Instructional Focus
1:1 iPads
All elementary students receive iPads daily, which are integrated into their course curriculum for creation, collaboration, critical thinking, and communication.
Robotics
All schools offer robotic classes, and there is an exciting annual district-wide competition called the “Robolympics.”
STEAM
Students are exposed to a diverse range of subjects, tackling coding and STEM design while also expressing their creativity through ‘Meet the Masters’ art instruction.
Leadership Growth
Through programs like CHARACTER COUNTS!, Student Council, and Tech Squad, students learn to lead with integrity and develop their character.
