Dear Spartan Families,

We are thrilled to welcome you to Stauffer Middle School, a place where students are encouraged every day to challenge themselves, grow as learners, and Level Up! Whether you’re returning for another year or joining us for the first time, know this: you are now part of something truly special. Stauffer is more than just a middle school; it’s a vibrant, student-centered community filled with heart, opportunity, and a shared commitment to growth.

Last year, our Spartans soared to new heights — excelling in academics, student leadership, and showcasing their talents through our award-winning band, robotics triumphs, athletic victories, and artistic achievements. We expanded digital access, encouraged creativity, and saw record participation in clubs, electives, and after-school enrichment. These vibrant experiences are what make Stauffer stand out — and we’re only getting started!

To our new Spartan families, we’re so glad you’re here. We can’t wait for you to experience the warmth, pride, and connection that make our campus one of a kind. We believe that strong school-family partnerships are the key to student success, so we encourage you to stay engaged, communicate often, and celebrate the journey with us throughout the year.

We are also excited to welcome Mr. Mark Schiavo as our new Vice Principal! For Mr. Schiavo, this is more than just a new role — it’s a homecoming. He began his teaching career right here at West Middle School (now Stauffer) and is thrilled to return to the very place where his journey in education began. With a deep passion for teaching English, leading AVID, and building strong, meaningful connections with students and families, Mr. Schiavo brings both expertise and heart to our campus. Most recently, he served as an Assistant Principal at Warren High School, supporting students, staff, and programs at the secondary level. His dedication to student success, positive school culture, and instructional excellence makes him an outstanding addition to our Spartan leadership team.

We are so proud to welcome him back to Stauffer, where he will continue to make a lasting impact.

As we begin this new school year, we’re filled with excitement, gratitude, and pride. Thank you for being a part of our Stauffer family.

It is such an honor to partner with you in helping our Spartans Level Up in every way.

Sincerely,
Allison Box, Ed.D.
Principal
