Open House season is here! Mark your calendars. Our Open House is on February 29 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm.
Why it is important to attend Open House
- Meet their teacher(s): If you have not had the chance to have face-to-face time with your child’s teacher, this is a great opportunity to ask questions about the class and show that you are invested in your child’s education. However, try to keep the questions general. It is better to schedule a teacher conference to discuss your specific concerns one-on-one.
- Learn how to help your child at home: This night gives you a chance to talk with your child’s teacher about what you can do at home to better support your child academically and behaviorally. Teachers may be able to suggest additional resources or creative ideas that can help them outside the classroom.
- Meet other parents: With such busy schedules, it is hard to connect with other parents and family members. This is a great way to meet other parents, exchange information, and even set up play dates or study groups for your children.
- Share in your child’s accomplishments: Our students are well into this school year and have been working incredibly hard. This is their time to shine. Show you their achievements and how much they’ve grown over the last few months. Time and time again, we see students excited to share a sneak peek into their school life, whether it is sharing a project they’ve been diligently working on or as simple as showing you their seat in class. Let your child provide you with a tour around their classroom and see their artwork and assignments on display.
During Open House, our teachers take a lot of time and great care to prepare their classrooms to showcase all the beautiful creations their students have made throughout the year. Your child has worked very hard at school. This is their moment to shine. While attending Open House is not mandatory, we highly recommend you come and enjoy sharing this night with your child.
