CTE Pathways: Fashion & Design
Take a blank canvas and make it into something brand new with a career in fashion or interior design. If you have an eye for color palettes and coordinating textures, these fields may be the perfect outlet for you to express and challenge yourself.
Makeup Artistry Pathway
Sharpen your makeup skills and turn it into a career! Help others feel beautiful by becoming an expert in make-up application and chemistry or turn your skills into a form of special effects for the entertainment industry. This pathway is offered as an extracurricular, after-school program.
Courses
Course Description
As an introductory and intermediate course, students will learn basic makeup application techniques, sanitation requirements, color theory, product chemistry and more. The course begins with a history of makeup artistry before diving into skin types, how to hold consultations and basic portfolio creation. Students will have the opportunity to become OSHA 10 certified.
Course Description
In this course, students will learn advanced techniques and about the products and equipment used for makeup application in a variety of fields such as fashion, photography, theatrical productions and film/TV. The course will cover horror, aging and fantasy effects, along with understanding make-up needs for characters based on scripts. Students will update their portfolios and have the opportunity to become first aid/CPR certified.
Outcomes
Students who complete Intermediate Makeup Artistry will receive an OSHA/Red Cross 10-Hour Certification Card.
Students who complete Advanced Makeup Artistry receive a Red Cross CPR and first aid card.

Each CTE Pathway is industry-focused and usually consists of 2-3 courses. The last course in the pathway is the capstone. When students complete a course they may receive college credit or receive an industry certificate. Click on each industry below to see details about the courses and outcomes.
