CTE Pathways: Education

Ever wonder what it takes to make a school run? The Education Careers pathway gives you an all-access pass to the entire profession. From teaching and counseling to tech support and operations, you will go far beyond the textbook. You will work directly in real classrooms, from TK through eighth grade, delivering lessons and engaging students across Downey Unified. You can gain professional skills, earn college credit through Cerritos College, and start building your future today. Education Careers is more than a class. It is your path to making a difference.

Education Pathway

This pathway includes two year-long courses that introduce students to the wide range of careers within the field of education. Instead of focusing only on teaching, the program explores counseling, administration, early childhood development, support services, and other essential roles that help schools run. Students gain a strong foundation in instructional practices along with a broader understanding of how different education professionals work together to support learners.
