Each year, the Mary R. Stauffer Foundation awards 80-100 College Scholarships based on academic merit. The amounts range between $100 and $2500 and are awarded to exceptional 6th grade through high school senior students. Students can receive the scholarships for good grades, athletics, and performing arts. Over 900 middle and high school students receive the awards each year. Awards are meant to be used towards college and some come as checks, while others can only be deposited into a college savings account.

Students will receive the money in increments based on the guidelines below:

  1. Register for a minimum of ten units or equivalent at a community college, trade school, or Downey adult school
  2. Provide documentation of your registration to your high school bookkeeper.
  3. The bookkeeper will issue funds. You can use the money for tuition, books, or anything else needed to further your education and prepare for a career.
  4. Repeat steps 1 & 2 three more times with documentation of maintaining a 2.5+ GPA.
