Sometimes it takes only one act of kindness and caring to change a person’s life.
– Jackie Chan
While we readily celebrate academic achievements, one of the most important values in all people is kindness. In IB, we encourage our students to think about the world and work to take care of their community and environment. Our students learn about making a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment by caring about other people and being sensitive to their needs.
As learners, we strive to:
- Show empathy, compassion, and respect
- Commit to service learning
- Act to make a positive difference in the lives of others and in the world.
We encourage our students to live by the Golden Rule of treating others the way they would like to be treated. Lessons of kindness and caring learned at a young age are more likely to be maintained into adulthood; our goal is for our IB students to become good friends, good neighbors, good coworkers, and good citizens because the world needs more people like this.
