Earn college credit while in high school
Downey Unified’s Dual Enrollment Program is designed for students who want to earn college credits before graduation. Each semester, students from all grade levels can enroll in this program. Students can choose from the available courses that will count towards their high school diploma while allowing students to get a head start on their higher education goals. These classes are free and most transferable to the UCs and CSUs, saving you time and money in college!
Program Requirements
- Minimum GPA of 2.6 (3.0 preferred)
- Must have great attendance
- Must be prepared for college-level workload
Summer & Fall 2026 Dual Enrollment Interest
If you are interested in taking a Dual Enrollment course, you must have attended a Dual Enrollment Bootcamp in order to sign up. Check your student email if you attended bootcamp for more information.
If you did not attend a bootcamp, please email Ms. Abrons at mabrons@dusd.net to inquire about the next steps.

Become a College Student
Create an account at CCCApply
NEW Students: Create an account, complete your profile, and submit the application
EXISTING Students: Log in to your account.

Apply for the Cerritos Term
- Go to CCCApply
- Click start a new application
- Select the term you are applying for:
- Complete the application
- Take a screenshot of your confirmation number (Summer or Fall 2026) and email the screenshot to Ms. Abrons at mabrons@dusd.net

DualEnroll Account Setup

- NEW Students:
- Create your DualEnroll account and complete your profile
- Work through each step on the right side of the screen
- Student Numbers Needed: Application Confirmation #. You may skip Cerritos ID# if you have not been given one yet.
- Do NOT register or enroll in any classes
- EXISTING Students:
- Log in → Click Profile → Click Student Numbers
- Replace your Application ID with your new Summer/Fall Application ID
- Click Update
- Do NOT register or enroll in any classes

Course Request Form
Complete the course request form Ms. Abrons emails you.

Final Steps
Once your counselor schedules you in a class, you will receive an email from Ms. Hanohano with:

- Next steps for enrollment
