The 2023 Downey Unified eSports Middle School Final Four Championship was held at Doty Middle School on November 29, 2023. After an exciting six-week tournament, it all came down to the playoff matches between the best teams from Doty, Griffiths, Sussman, and last year’s Champion, Stauffer Middle School.
We proudly announce that Sussman Middle School’s “Team Unknown” won the middle school eSport Championship playing Rocket League and brought home the coveted trophy! Congratulations to our students and their coach, Mr. Gonzalez for doing such an amazing job! We are all proud of you!
This tournament is a college and career readiness initiative of Downey Unified, where middle school students learn how to turn their excitement for playing video games into future careers in STEAM.
