We’re thrilled to announce a new partnership with Cream Co. Meats, introducing high-quality, grass-fed beef to the meals we serve our students. We’ll be transitioning to this nutritious, sustainable beef in our beef spaghetti recipe for TK through 12th grade students to start, but we hope to incorporate it into more recipes soon.

Quality & Sustainability

Cream Co. Meats is based in Oakland, California, and is a proud partner of the Beef2Institution program. The program ensures that every ranch involved raises their cattle in pastures without the use of hormones or antibiotics.

This new partnership provides our students with pasture-raised, grass-fed beef — all without hormones or antibiotics. This means our meals utilizing the protein are not only delicious but also healthier and responsibly sourced.

Regenerative Farming Practices

In addition to providing high-quality beef, Beef2Institution supports ethical and sustainable farming. All ranches in the program raise and harvest their cattle humanely and use regenerative farming practices. With this practice, farm animals graze in open pastures, each eating different grasses and adding natural fertilizer. They move from pasture to pasture, giving more time for the grasses and soil to heal and grow stronger. The healthier soil and grasslands then pull carbon out of the air to help our climate.

Nutritious Options for Our Students

Our partnership with Cream Co. Meats is one of several initiatives that we’re taking part in to provide our students with nutritious and healthy options. We are committed to ensuring that our students receive school meals with high-quality ingredients that support keeping them healthy, strong, and alert during the school day. We look forward to sharing about additional initiatives soon!
