Transitional Kindergarten (TK) exposes young students to kindergarten standards and helps develop fundamental skills for school.

There are several ways that you can help minimize potential stress and ensure a smooth transition as your kids head back to school.

We are excited to announce that we have adopted a new form of school-to-home communication across Downey Unified called ParentSquare.

The first day of school will be a minimum day schedule. If you have not registered, please do so now.

Beginning July 1, Downey Unified parents must complete or update the registration forms for each student attending the 24-25 school year.

Enrolling a student at Downey Unified only happens once. Registration happens every year. Learn more about both!

Children 18 and under are able to get one free breakfast and lunch per day at select sites during the summer.

Keep an eye open for registration starting July 1. School will be back in session August 14, 2024.

Downey Unified schools will celebrate School Lunch Hero Day on May 5 to celebrate DUSD school nutrition professionals.
