Big news! The Downey Unified Sports Academy is expanding to include 4th and 5th-grade students.
After a hugely successful first year at Stauffer Middle School, the Downey Unified Sports Academy is expanding, now welcoming 4th and 5th-grade students at Old River Elementary!
With the middle school Sports Academy already thriving at Stauffer Middle School, this expansion creates a seamless pathway for students to grow together in one unified Sports Academy, from elementary through middle school. With Old River located right next door to Stauffer, students benefit from a connected and continuous program experience.
Tryouts for the upcoming school year begin Friday, February 20, and will be the first of three total tryout dates.
Soccer Tryout Schedule (Feb. 20):
• 4th–5th Grade: 4:30–6:00 PM
• 6th–8th Grade: 6:15–7:45 PM
Families interested in learning more about the Sports Academy and upcoming soccer tryouts are encouraged complete the Interest Form. Additional tryout dates will be shared as they are finalized.
