Mrs. Tami Francis

Dear All-Star! Students, Parents, Staff, and Community Members,

As we embark on another exciting school year, I am filled with enthusiasm and gratitude for the journey that lies ahead. Reflecting on our achievements, I am proud to announce that Lewis has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School and awarded the National PTA of Excellence. These honors are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our entire school community.

To Our Students:
You are the heart of everything we do. This year, we remain committed to providing you with opportunities to collaborate, communicate, think critically, and be creative. Our focus on integrating the six pillars of character—trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship—will guide us as we work together to build a community where every student can thrive and shine. Remember, our motto, “Rise Up and Shine On!” is more than just words; it’s a call to action for you to approach each day with determination and a positive spirit.

To Our Parents and Guardians:
Your support and involvement are vital to our students’ success. We deeply value our partnership with you and appreciate your ongoing commitment to our school. By working together, we can ensure that our students have the best possible environment to grow and succeed. We look forward to another year of collaboration and celebration of our students’ achievements.

To Our Dedicated Staff:
Your passion and dedication are the foundation of our school’s success. As we continue to strive for excellence, your efforts in fostering a nurturing and dynamic learning environment are invaluable. Together, let’s remain focused on providing our students with the skills they need to excel and become individuals of strong character.

To Our Community Members:
We are grateful for the support and engagement from our community. Your involvement enriches our educational programs and enhances the overall experience for our students. We look forward to continuing to build strong partnerships and working together to support our children’s educational journey.

As we move forward, let us embrace the opportunities this year brings with enthusiasm and commitment. Our shared goal is to create a school environment where every student can rise up, shine on, and reach their full potential.

Thank you for being an essential part of our school community. Here’s to a remarkable year ahead!

PBIS

PBIS: Let’s Learn More…

“Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework for improving and integrating all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. PBIS is a proactive approach that schools use to improve school safety and promote positive behavior.”

PBIS HAS A FEW IMPORTANT GUIDING PRINCIPLES:

  • Our students learn behavioral expectations for different situations
  • Our students learn expected behaviors for various school settings through explicit instruction and opportunities to practice and receive feedback
  • Supporting students early can prevent more serious behavior problems
  • We believe each student has strengths, so our school gives many kinds of behavior supports
  • Teaching behavior should be based on research and science
  • Our school gathers and uses data to make decisions about behavior interventions
  • Our school staff members are consistent in how they encourage expected behavior and discourage infractions
