On February 20 at Lewis Elementary, parents gathered for an insightful AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) meeting led by AVID Coordinator Camerine Davila and Principal Tami Francis. The presentation focused on how the AVID program is shaping the academic success of 5th-grade students by fostering organization, critical thinking, and college readiness.
A highlight of the event was hearing from two 5th-grade students who shared firsthand how AVID has positively impacted their learning journey this year. Their stories showcased the program’s effectiveness in building confidence and essential study skills.

Lewis Elementary continues to empower students through AVID, preparing them for success in middle school and beyond!
