Today begins National School Lunch Week (NSLW) for schools throughout the country! This yearly event takes place each second full week of October.

Started in 1962 by President John F. Kennedy, NSLW promotes the National School Lunch Program and the importance of nutritious school lunches for all students. As we like to say, it’s much more than a meal! Eating a nutritious lunch helps students focus and behave in the classroom. It’s truly brain food!

This year’s NSLW theme is “Peace, Love & School Lunch.” To celebrate, enjoy these themed coloring and activity sheets (including a word search, picture match, and more), provided by the School Nutrition Association.
