No need for a sugar fright this Halloween! While your kids are sure to get lots of candy while trick or treating, you can help balance their sugar intake with healthier treats in the lead-up to Halloween night and in the weeks following with these festive snack ideas.

Halloween Snacks & Treats

  • Watermelon Head Fruit Tray
    • Carve a watermelon into a jack-‘o-lantern and then fill it with cubes of your family’s favorite fruit.
  • Banana Ghosts
    • Add chocolate chips as eyes and a mouth to peeled bananas to make friendly ghosts!
  • Ghost Veggies
    • Slice your favorite vegetables into the shape of a ghost and cut out eyes and a mouth.

  • Stuffed Bell Pepper or Orange Peel Jack-‘o-Lanterns
    • For savery: carve bell peppers and stuff them with veggie sticks.
      • Alternatively, for a heftier meal, stuff the pepper with your favorite burrito bowl ingredients (all cooked). Pop in the oven until the pepper is the desired consistency.
    • For sweet: carve orange peels and fill back up with orange slices and other fruit slices.
  • Orange Pumpkins
    • Add a stem of celery to a peeled mandarin orange to make it appear like a pumpkin.
