March is National Nutrition Month®, and we’re recognizing it by sharing some nutrition tips and resources for our DUSD families!
National Nutrition Month®, created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, recognizes the importance of making nutritious food choices and developing healthy habits. This year’s theme is “Fuel for the Future.” We want all of our students to not only be fueled for the school day but to learn how to make healthy food choices as they grow into adulthood.
To do so, there are some basic nutrition facts we all must know, including that there are six essential nutrients our bodies need:
- Carbohydrates
- Fats
- Protein
- Vitamins
- Minerals
- Water
Some we need more often than others and how much of each we need changes based on our age and lifestyle. View the resources and tips below to help you understand and plan for your nutrition needs and those of your family members.
