Coming back from Spring Break, we’re officially in the final stretch of the school year — and it always goes by so fast! This year, thanks to your commitment and the launch of our Your Presence is Powerful initiative, most of our schools currently have higher attendance rates than the average from last school year — thank you so much to everyone who has made that possible!

In that same spirit, let’s finish out the school year strong, keeping attendance a priority in these last days before summer break.
Why Attendance Still Matters
The end of the school year includes some of the most memorable moments, from commencement and promotion celebrations to yearbook signings and last-day festivities. The last months of the year also include some of the most significant academic moments, from end-of-year assessments to presentations and final projects. Being present ensures your student doesn’t miss out on the exciting and critical end-of-year moments.
When every day counts, missing even one or two days can make it harder to catch up as we get closer and closer to summer vacation. Absences towards the end of the year, unfortunately, mean there are fewer days left to make up missed assignments and tests, complete group and individual projects, and fully participate in classroom activities.
Attendance also supports the whole learning community — students help create a more dynamic, collaborative environment when they show up consistently, especially during group work and end-of-year activities.
Exceptions for Illness
Though we don’t want any students to miss these last days of the school year, if your child is sick, they should stay home until they’re feeling better. Please contact your child’s school to let them know of any absences.
Finishing the Year Strong
As warmer days approach and student excitement grows with summer in sight, let’s keep up the momentum we’ve built together so far this year.
By showing up each day and prioritizing education, we help our students stay motivated in these last school days — because our students’ Presence is Powerful!
