This does not apply for students who reside outside of the district boundaries and are currently on an inter-district permit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applications for Intra-District Open Enrollment are being accepted online or in person from Jan. 1 through Jan. 31, 2025.<\/strong>&nbsp;Applications can be found and submitted online through our website (button below) or a printed copy can be picked up at any of our schools or the district office located on Brookshire Avenue. These documents will be available for pick up during the schools\u2019 or district\u2019s office hours of operation. The district office is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30am to 4:30pm. Please check each school\u2019s office staff to confirm their hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New students (including TK and Kindergartners) entering one of our 13 elementary schools for the first time and wishing to apply, must also register at their school of residence.&nbsp; This will guarantee registration within Downey Unified for the new school year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Handwritten applications, those not submitted online, must be submitted in person to our Student Services Department at our district office by the closing deadline of Jan. 31, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications are not processed on a first-come basis.&nbsp; A random, unbiased lottery will be held to place students on an Intra-District Open Enrollment permit waiting list for the 2026-27 school year.
