As you know, the COVID surge has really impacted Los Angeles County but our families have done a great job of keeping symptomatic and\/or positive students home. With all of the absences, we have had hundreds of phone calls and emails to our nurse and attendance clerks about protocol and attendance. With staff shortages due to COVID, we have been unable to manage the messages coming in. If you have emailed\/called and are still waiting for a response, please complete this link and we will do all we can to respond: English: <a href=\"https:\/\/nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com\/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforms.gle%2F6P7t58JL2hHCqeEW7&amp;data=04%7C01%7Cmwillis%40dusd.net%7Ca92c951d545e434e9ef208d9d56cb5ec%7Cd06dc42e55d64fd78aa53f2b70da123c%7C0%7C0%7C637775485150782686%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&amp;sdata=nw6UOm2Jq7SDJE60Eb29aa1lF4DgodqTTr%2BwNCdXYeY%3D&amp;reserved=0\">https:\/\/forms.gle\/6P7t58JL2hHCqeEW7<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, here are a couple of things we really need your help with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Very important \u2013 if you call, email, or post to Parent Connect that your child is positive with COVID, <strong>please include the date of the positive test.<\/strong><\/li><li>Posting attendance in Parent Connect with specific dates is the quickest way for attendance to be posted.<\/li><li>Please read the attached guidelines carefully, as many of your questions will be answered.<\/li><li>Once you determine your vaccination status with booster eligibility, please follow the guidelines to determine whether you stay home due to exposure. <strong>Please make sure to include the exposure date when you report the absence.<\/strong><\/li><li>If you are returning with a negative test needed to clear you, please bring the test or a screenshot to the nurse when you are ready to return. Do not email it.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By now, most of you have your student COVID test kit (this one-time distribution only). There are two tests in the box, the second test should be used on Day 5 to retest. Please retest your child <strong>no sooner than 5 days after their first positive test result<\/strong> before returning to school. Please see chart below to assist you for positive tests or exposure, both require 5 days before you test. Remember that Monday is a holiday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;If your child\u2019s second COVID Test Card reads negative, please document this (take a photo) and answer your Daily COVID Screener accurately so they can be cleared to return to school that morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If your child continues to test positive on Day 5 or after, please keep them home until they are free of symptoms or symptoms are improving and have a negative result on a Rapid Antigen test. If you are unable to test or choose not to test, and symptoms are not present or are resolving, your isolation can end after Day 10.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note your child will have continued access to classwork on Canvas. Thank you for your collaboration in helping our students and staff remain healthy.&nbsp;You can monitor your child&#8217;s academic progress with a parent account on Canvas.
