Receiving IB authorization in record time is an exceptional recognition of the quality of our program and the collective commitment of our students, staff, and families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IB Middle Years Programme is designed to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring students who are prepared to be lifelong learners and engaged global citizens. Through rigorous, real-world learning experiences, students build critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. At Sussman, our students have demonstrated their learning by designing sustainable cities, engineering structures, and creating artwork that has been featured at the Autry Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cBecoming an IB World School reflects the serious work happening every day at Sussman Middle School,\u201d said Board President Jose Rodriguez. \u201cThis designation confirms that students are receiving instruction that meets internationally recognized standards and prepares them with the academic and problem-solving skills they need to succeed in high school, college, and the workforce.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This achievement reflects the strength of Sussman\u2019s leadership and the dedication of our IB teaching team. Our teachers are highly trained in IB instructional practices and are deeply committed to continuous professional growth, ensuring that students experience engaging, meaningful, and challenging instruction every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI could not be more proud of our teachers and staff for the dedication they showed throughout this process,\u201d said our principal, Dr. Quintero. \u201cThey embraced the challenge, supported one another, and never lost sight of what matters most\u2014our students. This achievement belongs to them and our entire Pioneer community.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, Sussman Middle School serves approximately 425 IB MYP students in grades 6, 7, and 8, offering an academically rigorous program that supports both personal development and academic success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Applications for the 2026\u201327 IB MYP school year for incoming sixth-grade students will be available from January 29 through February 27, 2026.<\/strong>&nbsp;Families interested in learning more about the program and application process are encouraged to attend our IB Information Night on&nbsp;<strong>January 29 at 6 p.m.<\/strong>&nbsp;at Sussman Middle School.
