{"id":15769,"date":"2026-05-06T01:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-05-06T08:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.dusd.net\/sussman\/?p=15769"},"modified":"2026-01-09T10:02:35","modified_gmt":"2026-01-09T18:02:35","slug":"knowledgeable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.dusd.net\/sussman\/knowledgeable\/","title":{"rendered":"Parent Learner Profile Activity: How can you help develop Principled students at home?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Principled people act with integrity, honesty, and a strong sense of fairness, justice, and respect for the dignity of individuals, groups, and communities.\u00a0 They take responsibility for their actions and the consequences that accompany them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Activities for parents<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Involve your child in deciding on the rules for a game or activity and then ensure that they stick to the ones that have been agreed upon.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage your child to play games that involve teams. Discuss with your child the qualities of a team player. What sort of person would they want on their team?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When your child wins a game, insist that he or she is a well-mannered winner, who always shows good sportsmanship. They might thank their opponent or shake hands with them if it\u2019s appropriate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When playing a game, don\u2019t change the rules or let your child win. Being a gracious loser is just as important as being a good winner.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is our final learner profile for the school year.&nbsp; We hope you enjoy doing these activities at home with your child.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As summer approaches, I encourage you to continue to practice all of the learner profile traits in your child\u2019s day-to-day experiences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Students of principle take responsibility for their actions and the consequences that accompany them.
