In doing so, they are lifelong learners who aspire to gain a deep level of understanding across a broad and balanced range of disciplines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Activities for parents<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Encourage your child to read books at home that correspond to the topics being covered in school. In particular, books in their mother tongue will help them make more meaningful, lasting connections to what is being taught in their classroom in English.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask your child about what they are learning in school and engage them in conversations about it:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cWhy do you think that is an important thing to know about?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cCan you think of anything happening in the world today that might be similar to that aspect of History?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Encourage your child to become familiar with current events and to read the newspaper and watch the news when appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Enjoy these moments as we partner and build these vital skills in our kids together.&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Knowledgeable students explore concepts, ideas and issues that have local and global significance.
