{"id":15542,"date":"2024-02-06T09:53:31","date_gmt":"2024-02-06T17:53:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/web.dusd.net\/sussman\/?p=15542"},"modified":"2025-09-17T09:02:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T16:02:15","slug":"research-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/web.dusd.net\/sussman\/research-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Research Day!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>We strive to make sure our students are informationally literate in a digital age. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Learners who are developing their information literate abilities&#8230;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>develop and maintain an open mind when encountering varied and sometimes conflicting perspectives<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>motivate themselves to find authoritative sources, recognizing that authority may be conferred or manifested in unexpected ways<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>develop awareness of the importance of assessing content with a skeptical stance and with a self-awareness of their own biases and worldview<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>question traditional notions of granting authority and recognize the value of diverse ideas and worldviews<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>are conscious that maintaining these attitudes and actions requires frequent self-evaluation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>With the rise of fake news, students must learn to read past headlines and learn to recognize credible sources.
