Spend a few minutes during mealtime deciding if what your family is eating is balanced.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This is a great attribute to lead by example and role model.&nbsp;Choose an activity you will do weekly with your child (could be the same activity repeated) and model the behavior you want to see in them (i.e.: go for a run, try a sport, try a new game, read a book for fun and discussing it, etc)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To help develop the <strong>thinker attribute<\/strong>, we encourage families to work on this at home&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Encourage your child to try to think of solutions to problems independently (at home, at school, in the community, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pose different real-life problems and questions to your child:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>&nbsp;\u201cI\u2019m not sure how to arrange the glasses so they can all fit in the cupboard.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>&nbsp;\u201cI wonder how much the groceries in the cart will cost\u2026how can we make an estimate?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask your child questions when they are working on a problem:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201cDo you have any ideas about how we can begin?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cHow can we do this differently?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cI had never thought of that. Tell me more about it.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cWhat other ways can we show that?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This can be done as a weekly goal throughout the month of October.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Families, lead by example and choose to do a weekly activity with your child whether it is running, reading, or something new!
