The first goal is to provide students with access to the most rigorous coursework that allows them to apply their learning utilizing an inquiry-based model. The second goal is to provide students with experiences and opportunities that develop their talents and capabilities educationally, socially and culturally<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 15px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Our GATE students receive many opportunities, including visiting local universities and museums, exposure to workplace educational applications (Google, Disney\u2019s Imagineering, etc), and other extracurricular activities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At Griffiths, we aim to have our GATE Students thrive to become strong, well-rounded students who are supported in their educational, extra-curricular, and social-emotional needs as they prepare to become college and career ready, globally competitive and citizens of strong character.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.4.3&#8243; custom_margin=&#8221;|20px|0px|0px|false|false&#8221; custom_margin_tablet=&#8221;||20px||false|false&#8221; custom_margin_phone=&#8221;&#8221; custom_margin_last_edited=&#8221;on|phone&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;||0px||false|false&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Students in the top CASSP testing levels are identified by school site<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Teachers and\/or parents can request testing through the GATE Lead at the site<\/strong> if the student meets the top level in CAASSP English\/Math testing<\/li>\n<li><strong>Students take a nationally normed <span style=\"color: #3366ff;\">non-verbal reasoning test<\/span> at the site.<\/strong> If students score 70% or higher on the reasoning test, they move on to the next steps:\n<ul>\n<li>Student GPAs are recorded<\/li>\n<li>Evidence of the students\u2019 critical thinking skills are gathered from their teachers<\/li>\n<li>Student Qualification Packet is reviewed by a team of GATE Leads<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=&#8221;1_3&#8243;
