In the language arts program at Griffiths Middle School, we develop a curriculum to build students\u2019 reading, writing, listening, and communication skills to become proficient readers, writers, and thinkers in today\u2019s world.   • Nonfiction using ERWC units<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Science Fiction using <\/span>The Giver<\/span> novel by Lois Lowry<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Poetry using various poets along with creative writing embedded<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Realistic Fiction using the novel <\/span>The Outsiders<\/span> by S.E. Hinton<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    8th Grade<\/span><\/h2>\n

    Critical reading, writing, and thinking using fiction and non-fiction, with a focus on the UC\u2019s ERWC program.<\/span><\/p>\n
