global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221; theme_builder_area=&#8221;post_content&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Gauldin Elementary will build the school\u2019s and parents\u2019 capacity for strong parental engagement, in order to ensure effective involvement of parents and to support a partnership among the school, parents, and the community to improve student academic achievement, through the following activities specifically described below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Needs Assessment Survey taken by parents (conducted by Title I)<\/li>\n<li>Parent input through team meetings (conducted by Title I)<\/li>\n<li>Parental requests (conducted by Title I)<\/li>\n<li>Varied\/multiple meeting times (conducted by Title I)<\/li>\n<li>PTA Meetings (conducted by the PTA board members)<\/li>\n<li>Encouragement to attend \u201cBack To School\u201d night and Open House (conducted by the staff and principal)<\/li>\n<li>Principal\u2019s newsletter, which is distributed in Spanish and English<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gauldin Elementary will incorporate the School-Parent Compact as a component of its Parent and Family Engagement Policy:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Both policies will be reviewed at the meetings held for Title I parents<\/li>\n<li>Both policies will be displayed on our school website<\/li>\n<li>Both policies will be available in the school office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gauldin Elementary will, with the assistance of its district, provide assistance to parents of children served by the school in understanding topics such as the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the State\u2019s academic content standards,<\/li>\n<li>the State\u2019s CAASPP proficiency levels<\/li>\n<li>the State and local academic assessments, including alternate assessments,<\/li>\n<li>the requirements of Title I<\/li>\n<li>how to monitor their child\u2019s progress, and<\/li>\n<li>how to work with educators<\/li>\n<li>Results of the annual Title I review \u2013 These various topics will be addressed at the Title 1 Informational Meetings and through Parent Education throughout the year.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gauldin Elementary will, with the assistance of its district, provide materials to help parents work with their children to improve their children\u2019s academic achievement, through:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>parent brochures\/newsletters<\/li>\n<li>parent education<\/li>\n<li>parent meetings and school functions<\/li>\n<li>Gathering parental input on desired parent education trainings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gauldin Elementary, with the assistance of its district and parents, educates its staff in how to reach out to, communicate with, and work with parents as equal partners.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Staff Meetings<\/li>\n<li>Professional Development<\/li>\n<li>Professional Literature<\/li>\n<li>\u2018Q\u2019 Parent Connect Online System through the DUSD App as well as Canvas.<\/li>\n<li>ParentSquare<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Gauldin Elementary will, to the extent feasible and appropriate, take the following actions to ensure that information related to the school and parent programs, meetings, and other activities is sent to the parents of participating children in an understandable and uniform format, including alternative formats upon request, and to the extent practicable, in a language the parents can understand:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All parent invitations and information will be translated in Spanish.<\/li>\n<li>All parent invitations will be emailed home and posted on social media.<\/li>\n<li>Auto dialer and email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_toggle][et_pb_toggle title=&#8221;Part 4: Adoption&#8221; The policy will be available school-wide to all parents of students through our website. It will be made available to the local community.
