She earned her Master\u2019s degree in Library Science from San Jos\u00e9 State University<\/span><\/span>, an art credential from California State University, Dominguez Hills<\/span><\/span>, and a library media credential from California State University, Long Beach<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n With 28 years of experience in libraries, Mrs. Ortiz began her career at the Downey City Library before working at an elementary school in downtown Los Angeles.
