Mr. Michael Williams
As the proud Principal of this incredible learning community, I am excited to welcome you to Rio Hondo Elementary, home of the Roadrunners! At Rio Hondo we work hard as a team to ensure ALL learners achieve academic and personal success in a safe, engaging and fun learning environment. I truly believe that our unique, positive school culture combined with a challenging academic curriculum is our recipe for an amazing school experience for our students. Great things are happening at Hondo!
Fun Facts:
- Principal Williams grew up attending Downey schools — Gauldin, East & Downey High.
- He enjoys being outdoors and playing a good round of golf.
- Principal Williams loves music, creating song playlists and indoor cycling classes.

At Rio Hondo School, we provide a rigorous academic program to maximize the achievement of our students in all content areas. We teach, model, and recognize valued character traits. We understand that it takes a village to raise a child. We believe our fundamental purpose is to ignite a passion for learning by ensuring a rigorous environment with high levels of achievement for ALL students.
